May 4, 2013 - Pups are born! I couldn't tell you the birth order of any pup other than Alpha and Kilo because both the first and the last were our only males. Alpha was first of the two. I remember this because I wrote down that the first pup was a light blonde male and that one is definitely Alpha!
May 6, 2013 - Even with their eyes closed they're beginning to crawl around! Alpha was the first at doing this!

May 15, 2013 - Alpha was the first to open his eyes!
May 19, 2013 - Alpha and his littermates received their temporary names today and their first collar to help us to identify each pup. He actually would be easy to identify but some of the girls at this stage would be hard to tell who is who. Alpha is wearing a light blue collar. Our family got together and tried to come up with a theme to name eleven puppies. Believe it or not this is no easy chore! In the end we decided on naming them based on military call letters. After all, Cadence, their mom, was named while living at the army base at Fort Drum, NY. And, Comrade, well, that just seemed fitting that her "mate" should be her comrade as they would say in the military!
May 23, 2013 - His eyes are fully opened and already you can see his personality emerging. Alpha may be one of the bigger pups but he's a love... his personality at this point seems to be playful but mellow.
May 31, 2013 - Alpha is one of the sweetest pups in the bunch! His coat is such a beautiful light blonde. I think he's going to look and act a lot like Comrade, his dad, as he grows up. He's still quite mellow but at the same time playful with the other pups and kids! He is going to be a wonderful family member for someone! Love him to pieces!
June 7, 2013 - Tomorrow the pups will be five weeks old. Alpha is growing into an absolutely beautiful light blonde male. He remains one of the largest pups and his personality is still playful but mellow. Alpha has been chosen and will soon go to his new home. I'll miss him dearly but for now I am enjoying every minute I get to spend with him!
June 7, 2013 - UPDATE! I spoke with Alpha's new "mom" today and she told me that his new name will be Luke or Lukie so from now on that's what we will call him. I think Alpha is going to love his new family and that they will love him right back!
